About the team and the role

P&C Solutions is one of the three pillars within Swiss Re Reinsurance. The pillar aims to add value to clients’ original business by providing solutions and services across the value chain. The P&C Analytics Solutions team channels and develops solutions and services for our clients across the (re)-insurance value chain. Our clients' needs are at the heart of what we do, as we make sure that our solutions and services help our clients grow and make commercial sense. Data analytics team works very closely with the product owners of the risk assets in the property, commercial and casualty lines of business across geographies.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new data sources and datasets to drive innovation in portfolio analysis and model development
  • Influence the risk strategy through descriptive analytics and present recommendations to the business
  • Develop/maintain dashboards that give competitive insights to the clients
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and automate wherever needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 6+ Years of industry experience with a quantitative background (engineering, statistics, economics)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Very good experience to write well-documented code in R and/or python & versioning in git etc.
  • Expertise in visualization tools to build dashboards such as PowerBI, Dash, R-shiny
  • Excellent data handling skills and can optimize SQL queries (Experience working in Azure environment is a plus)
  • A fair understanding of ML algorithms and classification/regression techniques
  • Ability to handle unstructured data, perform entity resolution, fuzzy mapping etc. will be a plus
  • Knowledge of the commercial line of insurance business will be a plus

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), ability to confidently present ideas
  • Self- starter who is methodical and well-organized
  • Adept in multitasking and meeting deadlines in a delivery focused environment
