Job Description

What You’ll Bring:

 Resolve Tier1 and Tier 2 level support tickets for WAF, BOT management & DDoS security controls


 Test WAF policies and rule sets globally and troubleshoot issues.

 Meet necessary SLA’s for resolution of issues.

 Respond to WAF events and follow incident response plans & run books.

 Support investigation of security incidents. Support business continuity risk management and

disaster recovery planning activities.

 Monitor and respond to WAF alerts.

 Update ticket status within TU system

 Work with vendor to open new cases & track vendor tickets to closure.

 Assist with onboarding of new apps to WAF, optimization of policies & conduct upgrades

 Escalate Tier 3 level issues to WAF engineering team to seek assistance and advice on issues and

drive resolution

 Assists with operations and support of other security tools like IPS, Packet brokers & forensic tools.

 Contribute to agile project planning & delivery.

Required Skills:

 Strong understanding of on premise and/or cloud based Web Application Firewall Technologies (like

Imperva, CloudFlare).

 Knowledge of information security concepts, OWASP web application vulnerabilities, web-based

attacks, risk identification, assessment and reporting activities.

 Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IP addressing, DNS, VLAN’s, subnets,

analyzing packet captures etc.). In-depth understanding of networking protocols, ISO Model (Layer 1

to Layer 7) and expert knowledge on network firewall concepts and configuration.

 Strong triaging and troubleshooting skills.

 Prior experience working in Tier1/Tier 2 security operations & support.

 Ability to improve effectiveness in incident response practices. Be a champion of continuous

improvement initiatives.

 Install and tests new hardware and software releases. Evaluate and install patches, perform system

upgrades and resolves security issues.

 Able to conduct research and support development of information security policies, standards,

procedures, and/or guidelines.

 Adept at security monitoring, and investigation activities.

 Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills. Strong communication skills.

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

We’d love to see:

 2+ years of tier 1/2/3 network support &  WAF support experience (preferably SaaS WAF solution)

 2+ years of working in a Security Operations Center (SOC).

 3+ years of networking experience, including configuring, analyzing & troubleshooting complex

TCP/IP networks.

 Knowledge of BOT management & DDoS (layer 4 & 7) security controls highly preferred.

 Experience creating support process and establishing run books highly preferred.

Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, GCP. Experience with cloud automation in

security domain (scripting using PERL, Python, Ruby or Ansible.)

Impact You’ll make:


 In the first 90 days – Ramp up to project specifics and contribute to new WAF deployments and

troubleshooting issues by closely with technical leads. Support existing WAF deployments to

respond to break/fix, apply security patches & respond to security incidents.

 Beyond 90 days – Effectively perform WAF deployments independently across TU regions with

support from local resources. Participate/Contribute in Tier 3 support activities and BAU as needed.
