In 2021, 47% of women took a sabbatical globally, of which about 70% dropped out of employment and had started something of their own or are looking for a job. Organisational culture, societal pressure, low inclusion, gender pay gap are the massive reasons to drop out of the workforce. The challenge is to sensitize recruiters and organisations to hire these women after an extended career break.
