Women are powerful change agents. The wide-ranging advantages of diversity and gender parity in leadership and decision-making are increasingly recognized in all spheres.
However, a 2020 analysis by Mercer of over 1,100 organizations across the world found a leaky pipeline for women in leadership:
Executives: 23%
Senior managers: 29%
Managers: 37%
Professionals: 42%
Support staff: 47%
It is time for the world to acknowledge the benefits of women in leadership and commit to putting even more women in positions of power. Women still make up a very small percentage of those who make decisions in politics, business, and society. The benefits of elevating women in decision-making for politics, corporations, and communities make the case for balancing the power dynamics in leadership clearer than ever. However, advancements for women in leadership won't come about by themselves.
In this conversational session, Paneesh Rao shares his pieces of advice on how women can grab leadership opportunities and thrive in the role.
